Absentee Voting by Mail and In Person

Absentee Ballots
Absentee ballots will be available 46-days prior to the election.

  • August 11, 2026 - Primary Election: Absentee ballots are available beginning June 26, 2026, through August 10, 2026.
  • November 3, 2026 – General Election: Absentee ballots are available beginning September 18, 2026, through November 2, 2026. 


Vote Absentee by Mail

If you are unable to vote in person at City Hall, visit the Minnesota Secretary of State's website to complete the absentee ballot application process online. If you’re unable to complete the application online, you can also complete one of the following options. 

You can complete an absentee ballot application (PDF document at the link below) and do one of the following:

  • Attach it to an email addressed to [email protected]
  • Mail it to:

    Minneapolis, MN 55487-0012

Upon receipt of completed and signed application, your absentee ballot will be sent to you.

If you requested a ballot by mail, your ballot will arrive via regular mail. Follow the directions included with your ballot and mail back in the Return Ballot Envelope or you can drop off a ballot that was mailed to you at Corcoran City Hall, 8200 County Road 116, Corcoran, MN 55340) during the absentee ballot and early voting periods Monday through Thursdays 8am-5pm, Fridays 8am-12pm and during the extended absentee ballot hours (see below).

Vote Absentee in Person at City Hall

 Absentee voting in person is available at Corcoran City Hall, 8200 County Road 116, Corcoran, MN 55340 beginning:

  • Primary Election: Absentee Voting in Person begins June 26, 2026, through July 23, 2026.
  • General Election:  Absentee Voting begins September 18 2026, through , 2026.

City Hall hours :
Mondays -- Thursdays from 8:00am until 5:00 pm
Fridays from 8:00 am until 12:00 pm.     

When voting absentee in person, you will be asked to complete a Minnesota Absentee Voting Application Form to begin the process of absentee voting. Once your registration is confirmed, you will receive a secrecy envelope, an absentee vote envelope and your ballot. Once your complete your ballot, place the ballot in the secrecy envelope and seal it, then place the secrecy envelope into the absentee ballot signature envelope and seal it. If voting at City Hall, return the absentee vote signature envelope to an election judge. You will be asked to provide appropriate information on the signature envelope and the election judge will be witness to your signature as you sign the signature envelope. If absentee voting is occurring at an alternate location, a registered voter must witness your signature on the signature envelope. Early Voting In Person

The early voting period begins 18 days prior to the election dates. If you prefer to place your ballot directly into the ballot counter rather then voting via absentee secrecy and absentee signature envelope, below are the dates early voting begins:
  • Primary Election: Early Voting begins July 24, 2026, through August 10, 2026.
  • General Election:  Early Voting begins October 16, 2026, through November 2, 2026.

Primary Election
Saturday, August 8, 2026: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Tuesday, August 10, 2026: until 5:00 pm 

General Election
Saturday, October 24, 2026: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Tuesday, October 27, 2026:  until 7:00 pm
Saturday, October 31, 2026: 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Sunday, November 1, 2026:  9:00 am - 3:00 pm
Tuesday, November 2, 2206:  until 5:00 pm


Military and Overseas Voters 

If you are in the military or residing overseas, there is a different process for applying and voting by absentee ballot. Please visit the Hennepin County website for more information. 


Track Your Absentee Ballot
